Keep only the notifications you actually get something out of missed calls during opening hours yes, marketing noise no. Below you'll see what you set where, and what to know when notifications don't come through.
In the Rinkel app
Open the app and tap your profile icon, top right.
Tap Notifications.
Switch on or off per type: missed calls, calls outside opening hours, voicemail.
Tap Save.
No notifications on your phone?❗
Check your phone's own settings too: under App preferences > Permissions > Push notifications, this has to be on for the Rinkel app. Without that permission, the app can't send anything.
In MyRinkel (desktop)
Go to my.rinkel.com/user/profile and set which emails you want to receive under Notifications.
Voicemail emails per number
Got more than one number and want voicemails from each one to go to a different email address? Go to Number settings > General and enter the address you want for each number.
In the Webphone (browser)
Working from MyRinkel? Switch on the Webphone (bottom right in your browser after you log in). For browser notifications, give your browser permission once:
Log in to MyRinkel and switch on the Webphone, bottom right.
Allow notifications when your browser asks. Didn't see a prompt? Click the notifications button, top left (two dots and lines in your address bar) and set Notifications to Allow.
Not getting all your notifications?
Nine times out of ten, this is why: you need to be in the number's forwarding. If you're not in the forwarding, the call never reaches you — and so neither does the push.
An example: business X has a missed call outside opening hours.
Colleague A is in the forwarding and has push on → gets a notification.
Colleague B isn't in the forwarding, push on → gets no notification.
So always check your forwarding when notifications are missing.
Frequently asked questions
I get notifications on my mobile, but not in the Webphone.
Check whether you've allowed browser notifications for MyRinkel (via the notifications button in the address bar). And keep the Webphone tab open — if you close it, the notifications stop too.
Can I have emails about missed calls sent to a different email address, per number? No. You can set voicemail emails per number, but emails about missed calls always go to the account email address of the user or administrator.
My mobile rings, but my Webphone doesn't — how do I know if it's a Rinkel call? Switch on the "This is a Rinkel call" announcement in your caller ID display. Only you hear it, handy for keeping private and business apart.
In a team, who gets the push notifications?
Only those who are in that number's forwarding and have push switched on in the app.
The "active call" notification on Android stays put after the call.
That's an Android system notification, not our app. Try this: close the app completely, restart your phone, and check that the Rinkel app has the right permissions. Still there? Send us a message with your device and Android version.
